Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the government’s commitment to prioritizing students’ futures amidst ongoing debates surrounding NEET-UG results and the cancellation of the UGC-NET examination. Addressing concerns, Pradhan assured that any discrepancies in the NEET examination were localized to specific regions and underscored the government’s intolerance towards irregularities or malpractices.

“We are dedicated to conducting error-free examinations. A high-level committee is being established to enhance the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA),” Pradhan stated, reaffirming the government’s stance on maintaining transparency and accountability.

Regarding the UGC-NET exam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated proceedings against unidentified individuals implicated in compromising the exam’s integrity on June 18. Pradhan reassured the public of the government’s vigilance in protecting students‘ interests and vowed stern action against those responsible, including any NTA officials involved.

Highlighting specific measures, Pradhan outlined:

– Ensuring student welfare remains paramount.

– Collaboration with the Bihar government for a thorough investigation into localized errors in the NEET exam.

– Formation of a high-level committee to propose improvements in NTA’s structure, operations, examination procedures, transparency, and data security protocols.

– Commitment to achieving error-free examinations and addressing the UGC-NET paper leak incident, emphasizing it as an isolated occurrence affecting a subset of examinees.

Pradhan cautioned against the spread of misinformation and politicization of the issue, urging stakeholders to refrain from baseless rumors. His statements followed criticisms from opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, reiterating the government’s steadfast approach towards safeguarding educational integrity and student welfare.
