Rs.19 Crore Education Complex Launched by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

The chief minister opened the 7-acre, around Rs. 19 crore educational facility through video conference.

State of Odisha On Thursday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated a state-of-the-art educational facility at Badapada, located in the tribal-dominated Malkangiri district’s “Swabhiman” neighbourhood. Once home to Maoist rebels, Swabhiman Anchal (also called the cut-off area in Malkangiri district) was connected to the area by the Gurupriya bridge that the state government built.

The chief minister officially opened the 7-acre, around Rs 19 crore educational facility through video conference. Modern facilities are featured in this facility, which can accommodate more than 1,000 students in grades 1 through 12. The goal of these facilities is to better prepare students for their future endeavours.

The facility has classrooms, a specialized e-library with 3,000 books, activity rooms, a computer lab, an ICT Smart Learning Center, a science lab, a tribal nook, a computer lab, a science hostel, and a dormitory for 200 boys. There is also a separate hostel for girls that can house up to 500 pupils. Along with a number of additional amenities, the facility has an amphitheatre, garden, sports courts, an open gym, solar lighting, solar water supply, and water harvesting systems.

Speaking of his unique bond with Malkangiri, Patnaik recalls initiating large-scale welfare programs in the area, including the LAccMI bus, the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), and the subsidised rice plan. He emphasized that the educational facility in the tribal hinterland will have a major impact on the pupils’ overall development.
