For the Class of 2024–2025, OP Jindal Global University Announced Approximately 2,000 Scholarships

OP Jindal Global University (JGU) has announced a significant initiative to award over 2,000 scholarships to deserving students for the academic year 2024-25. This decision, in conjunction with the university’s 15th anniversary celebration in 2024, aims to support more than 60% of students admitted in that year.

The scholarships will be granted based on merit-cum-means, utilizing a transparent and comprehensive admissions process. Eligibility criteria will consider factors such as annual family income, scores from the last qualifying examination, Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test (JSAT) or other relevant standardized examination results, and faculty interview scores.

C Raj Kumar, the founding Vice-Chancellor of JGU, expressed his delight at this initiative, emphasizing the university’s commitment to providing opportunities for education to students from diverse backgrounds and economic circumstances. He highlighted the role of Naveen Jindal, the founding Chancellor and benefactor, in recognizing the importance of accessible education.

Over the past 14 years, JGU has awarded scholarships worth Rs 250 crores, benefiting approximately half of the university’s student body. This new initiative in 2024 underscores JGU’s commitment to prioritizing the student experience and promoting access to world-class education.

Professor Dabiru Sridhar Patnaik, Registrar of JGU, emphasized the university’s global perspective, with over 1,100 full-time faculty members from 51 countries. JGU has collaborations with more than 400 international higher education institutions across 70 countries.

With 12 schools covering various disciplines and specialized research institutes, JGU offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, further enhancing its reputation as a global center for education and research.
