Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya and PCI India have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to strengthen its MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management (MBA-HHM). This is designed to bridge the academic world with the industry by opening students to experience the practical world of the healthcare sector combined with academic learning.
One of the most significant provisions of the tie-up is that of a two-week community project on public health in the curriculum, which would then be followed by a four-month internship. It provides them with invaluable hands-on experience, illuminating healthcare management, thereby equipping them with all the skills to deal with the dynamic environment of healthcare.
The curriculum under the MBA-HHM program at IIM Bodh Gaya includes corporate hospitals, public health, health insurance, pharmaceuticals, digital health, and healthcare consulting. Joining PCI India will introduce greater depth to the learning process, which will further add value to the students’ understanding of the intricacies of the industry.
In addition to internships, PCI India will enhance the academic experiences of IIM Bodh Gaya students by expert lectures on contemporary issues in healthcare management. It shall provide the students with a better perception of current trends, challenges, and innovations within the public health domain.
Collaboration also ties in with collaborative research work and activities that serve as discussion forums and information dissemination through roundtables, workshops, and seminars. These will lead to innovation and foster dialogue on the key concerns within healthcare management, with benefits to both the students and the faculty members.
The director of IIM Bodh Gaya, Vinita Sahay, and CEO of PCI India, Indrajit Chaudhuri, did not take much time to realize the long-term value proposition of the collaboration. “One of the efforts was to generate a social responsibility that inculcates an industry-ready workforce-which would put IIM Bodh Gaya up as an ideal place for healthcare management education,” they state.
