The initiative, branded as “Key to Entrance,” has been in the form of a transformation training designed to prepare more than 800,000 students from public schools for different undergraduate entrance examinations. The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education-the technology arm of the General Education Department of the Kerala government-was at the helm of affairs while unveiling the initiative.
The main objective of this program is to enhance learning experiences for all students in all Science, Humanities, and Commerce streams in a fully-inclusive way. It, therefore, manifests the commitment of the state towards achieving academic excellence among the students.
Free login is given, and, specifically for Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary students of government or aided schools, this program provides an individual online gateway. This platform provides various study resources, including question papers, assignments, and practice tests. Live classes commence from September 30 and it will be available all over Kerala. Video recordings of the students who miss out on the classes live will be made available later.
The core topics include Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Business Studies, English, and Geography, which can further be added later. They will provide them with chances to assess their knowledge and highlight which aspects would need more attention through self-assessment each session. Continuous assessment through online model examinations will ensure proper learning.
To implement this programme appropriately, the DGE directed each and every school to provide the necessary technical facilities for the students. K. Anvar Sadath, Chief Executive Officer of KITE, noted that it was the biggest public entrance examination training system in Kerala with the number of students approximately 8 lakhs. He appeared very elated that they could once again repeat the same feat as “Crack the Entrance” crash course that had witnessed such high enrollments last year and sent back such top results to the students looking forward to clearing the entrance exams to medical as well as engineering colleges.
According to the chief minister, this is an attempt to make Kerala’s youth self-dependent regarding the competencies and knowledge needed to be a success in academics and future careers.
