IIT Kharagpur Rose up to 4th Rank in QS World University Rankings 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology, also known as IIT Kharagpur, jumped 49 spots to claim the 4th rank in India in the most recent QS World University Rankings 2025.According to the most recent QS World University Rankings 2025, the Indian Institute of Technology, or IIT Kharagpur, is rated fourth in India. The institute moved up 49 spots to take the 222nd spot among universities worldwide compared to its 2024 performance.

According to the QS World University Rankings 2025, the first and biggest IIT in the nation was ranked third out of all IITs in the nation.Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the World University Ranking 2025, which assessed 5663 universities globally and included 1503 universities from throughout the globe. In terms of sustainability, citations per faculty, and international research network, the institute has done well.

Prof. VK Tewari, Director of IIT Kharagpur said, “IIT Kharagpur has upheld the nation’s resolve to excel the standards of globalization with artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing systems and transportation, 5G Network, safety engineering and analytics, quality and reliability, affordable healthcare, precision agriculture, food nutrition, and smart infrastructure to contribute towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The successful execution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vikshit Bharat initiative necessitates the involvement of multiple entities, including as governmental bodies, commercial and non-commercial businesses, and academic and research institutions. “We have to acquire the opportunity in digital economy space and biomedical engineering, fostering technological expansion by creating the human-machine synergy that would set the future technology development agenda for developed India,” said the director of IIT Kharagpur.
