Preparing India’s Yuva Shakti “youth power” to Take Center Stage of Global Leadership

On September 24th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant announcement, extending a special invitation to all young individuals to participate in the grand finale of the G20 University Connect event. This initiative was launched with the objective of fostering an understanding of India’s G20 Presidency among the country’s youth and encouraging their active engagement in various G20-related activities. The program successfully involved more than one lakh students from universities across India, providing them with a platform to exchange ideas and insights with accomplished India’s G20 leadership.

This exciting event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 26th, at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam, a venue that recently hosted world leaders during the G-20 Summit. Now, it will serve as a platform for India’s youth to showcase their talents and potential.

Over the past year, the G-20 University Connect program has successfully united India’s Yuva Shakti (Young Force/Youth Power). This year-long initiative has yielded tremendous results and showcased the vibrant cultural ambassadors India’s youth have become. Through this program, they have forged lasting connections with the G-20 fraternity, gaining valuable insights into G-20 core themes and objectives. It has instilled a sense of collective responsibility towards the planet and prepared the youth to actively contribute to the development of Viksit Bharat (developed India) by 2047.

The G-20 University Connect initiative has hosted numerous programs across India, engaging higher education institutions. What started as a program primarily for universities quickly expanded to include schools and colleges, reaching an even broader audience.

One standout event was the “Model G20 Meeting,” where students from 12 different nations, including representatives from 10 G20 countries, convened to discuss the crucial theme of “Youth for LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment).”

As the G-20 University Connect program reaches its pinnacle, there is eager anticipation to hear the experiences and insights of India’s Yuva Shakti. Their enriching journey promises to inspire young minds across the nation. PM Narendra Modi extends this special invitation to all youngsters, urging them to actively participate in this unique endeavor and contribute to the meaningful dialogue surrounding India’s G20 Presidency.
